Mellie loves colour. Bright colour! This is the story of a wedding day that was as much fun as it was colourful. The day began at Bluebell’s Barn where the girls got ready (Bluebell was the horse who used to live there!) . There were so many gorgeous details that made this such a special day: Sweet Pea the vintage vw camper that brought Mellie to church, a bright red routemaster bus for the guests, Mellie’s stuffed toy who came to the wedding.
The flowers were gerbera’s in beautiful vibrant shades of orange, yellow and hot pink.
The reception was held at Rotherham Golf Club, where Matt’s dad is a member. A lovely old hall, it has beautiful grounds which I used to shoot some family pictures and some portraits of Matt and Mellie. However, for those of you who know of my passion for peeling painted backgrounds, you will notice that I managed to find one!! An old water tank – green paint peeling to red with some nice soft light!
So, I have been shooting my family portraits in a more fun and informal way lately, with everyone in the family much closer, having a lot of fun and interacting with each other in a much more natural way BUT I wasn’t expecting my cuddly family pictures to go like this!!! Mellie’s fabulous fascinator somehow got attached to her dad Gerald’s glasses!! Gerald hams it up for the camera while everyone falls about laughing – including me in the end!!! I think it will make a fab sequence page for their album!
This is some close-ups of Sweet Pea, the wonderful vintage vw camper van from Dub Tails. She was decorated with tulle and matching gerbera flowers.
