It was June 2009, Lucy and Jason and some friends and family were having a BBQ at tree tops cafe in the Dalby forest, when Jay got down on one knee and asked Lucy to marry him. He had made a wooden engagement ring which says Lucy was the perfect fit! That wooden ring came with Lucy to the hotel on her wedding day. Gorgeous.

Lucy and Jason chose Merchant Taylors Hall in York for their wedding. Right next to the bar walls, we shot photographs at Monk Bar using the wonderful old stone. Lucy’s dress was amazing –  a lovely soft peachy colour with pleated fishtail train. She looked sensational.

Lucy chose a bouquet of soft pink and cream roses with rosemary. Although I don’t see it at many wedding anymore, herbs were always traditionally used in a brides’ bouquet – it was thought they warded off evil spirits.

Tables were decorated with candles and ferrero rocher with little name flags as place markers, the hall was decorated with flowers and fairy lights and one of the pictures that I shot for their pre wedding shoot back last winter in the snow.
