Phil proposed to Helen by drawing a big heart in the sand and writing the words ‘Marry Me?’ in the middle. The ring Phil had chosen was placed there too and Phil’s dog, Holly,  kept running through the middle and messing up the letters! In fact Holly has played a large part in their history together: the first time they met, Phil brought Holly along and Helen thought she would judge the man by how he treated his dog! It soon became clear that Holly adored Phil, and as they say, the rest is history!

The wedding day was wonderful with lots of tears and so much laughter. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception and later were surprised with a vintage bus trip to Rievaulx Abbey for photographs. Afternoon tea was waiting at The Feversham Arms when we returned.

The flowers by The Topiary Tree were beautiful – palest pink and cream roses with eucalyptus
